After he saw his father, Samosir gave lunch. Toba was very happy because he was hungry from working all day. As he opens the lunch bag and saw low little food left in it, he becomes very angry. My girlfriend, my pup Gucci and I were all sitting around the cozy house on acold winter evening watching the meteorologistsâ giving reports of the weather on TV. The lateafternoon was quite different from any other in January, as a warm front was nearing. We wereglued to the weather trying to keep up as to where the storms were popping up that stayed up for quite some time that night knowing something wasnât right . There was adewy smell of thunderstorms and heavy hitting rain in the distance. The eerie noise of the windwas whistling through the bare branches of the trees. But knowing it was sure to just bethunderstorms I turned off the weather to enjoy some thunder as I fell began to hear sounds of booming rumbles in the distance and intense rain striking thesiding of our home. Tornado sirens were screaming and they echoed through the quietneighborhoods. We get up from bed and throw sweatshirts and flannel pants on. Behind thecurtains, I could see the dark, almost purple sky being lit up by flashing and constant turned on the television in the living room to get updated. It was a worse than I had originallythought, tornadoes had popped up all over the state. It was an astonishing line of threatening Graves2 storms and tornado warnings. But the noise of the sirens faded and quit and shortly after that thethreat diminished, for the time being. As we watched the heavy eyed and drowsy we againdrift to sleep; with the bright lights from the reflecting on the walls and glaring back intoour an hour passes when the tornado sirens began echoing again. My girlfriend and Iwoke up at the exact same time, we sat straight up, looked at each other. I remember having thisinner gut feeling that something wasnât right . We were panic-stricken and knew we needed tofind a safe place and take cover. Kayley grabs a flashlight and our dog; that was alarmed and on edge at the commotion. Iâm freaking out try ing to find a place to keep my family safe. I beganfrantically tearing shelves out of a small hallway closet like a mad man looking for diamonds Ihad lost. The closet was full of nicely folded blankets and sheets. I told Kayley that we were allgoing to have to get in there. I sat her in there with our little dog; it was tight with just themalone in there. The adrenaline that was running through my body told me, we would all have soon as we get crammed in the pantry we start hearing crazy sounds, like thrashing rainand almost a whooping deep wind like it was going through whipping things against the is upset and began to cry. But there was no speaking, just an unusual silence as welistened to the storms trying to make out what we were hearing. The clatter and commotion thatwas raging outside only lasted a matter of minutes. We waited about five minutes to make surethe storm has passed us before wondering out of the pantry. There was stillness in the air. When we walk outside I canât believe my eyes, it was pitch black, besides the couple of street lights inthe distance and the sporadic lightening strikes. Borobudur is one of the worldâs most famous temples; it stands majestically on a hilltop overlooking lush green fields and distant hills. Borobudur is built of gray andesite stone. It rises to seven terraces, each smaller than the one below it. The top is the Great Stupa, standing 40 meters above the ground. The walls of the Borobudur are sculptured in bas-reliefs extending over a total length of six kilometers. It has been hailed as the largest and most complete ensemble of Buddhist relieves in the world, unsurpassed in artistic merit and each scene an individual masterpiece. Borobudur temple built in the eighth century by the Cailendra dynasty, is believed to have been derived from the Sanskrit words âVihara Buddha Uhrâ the Buddhist Monastery on the hill. Borobudur is a terraced temple surmounted by stupas, or stone towers; the terraces resemble Indonesian burial foundations, indicating that Borobudur was regarded as the symbol of the final resting place of its founder, a Syailendra, who was united after his death with the Buddha. The Prambanan temple complex is also associated with a dead king. The inscription of 856 mentions a royal funeral ceremony and shows that the dead king had joined Shiva, just as the founder of the Borobudur monument had joined the Buddha. Divine attributes, however, had been ascribed to kings during their lifetimes. A Mahayana inscription of this period shows that a ruler was said to have the purifying powers of a bodhisattva, the status assumed by the ruler of Shrivijaya in the 7th century; a 9th-century Shaivite inscription from the Kedu Plain describes a ruler as being âa portion of Shiva.â The Borobudur was in danger of collapsing as its stone statues and stone cancer, moss and lichen affected bas-reliefs. But, the monument has been completely restored and was officially opened by the President on 23rd February 1983. The restoration took eight years to complete, funded by the Government of Indonesia with aid from the UNESCO and donations from private citizens as well as from foreign governments. The visitors have the option of going by taxi or public bus to reach this temple. Public transportation is available from the bus terminal. From that point visitors can hire becaks or horse carts, or walk the rest of the way to the monument. A large parking area is available not far from the monument, so private cars and buses can park in this area. Lake Toba is the ninth deepest lake in the world. Most tourists or travelers come to this Lake through Medan by taking a plane at Kualanamu International Airport. From this airport the tourists then headed to the town of Parapat, the famous city of tourist destinations of Lake Toba. Parapat offers many kind of bataknese cultural attractions equipped with complete accommodation, such as resorts, hotels, easy access vehicles, restaurants and others. Known as the second largest lake in the world, Lake Toba also has a crater lake called Samosir Island. This island is believed to be about the size of Singapore. Many other natural tourism objects presented around Lake Toba such as Lake Aek Natonang on Samosir Island, beautiful Sipiso-Piso Waterfall, and Lake Sidihini. Lake Aek Natonang in Samosir Island has a beautiful natural beauty with beautiful and calm water, in accordance with its name Aek Natonang.
